The Palo Santo Holder is conceived as a low, grounded surface for ritual rather than a decorative accessory. Its form spreads outward horizontally, emphasizing stability and calm, with a shallow central depression that receives the wood without elevating it theatrically. The object remains close to the surface it inhabits, reinforcing a sense of stillness and intentional pause.
The material treatment is deliberately subdued. Light is absorbed rather than reflected, allowing ash, residue, and shadow to become part of the object’s evolving presence. The holder does not attempt to aestheticize the act of burning; instead, it contains it with quiet precision. Edges are softened, proportions resolved, and nothing exceeds what is structurally or visually necessary.
