Aleyè Nomade No. 62 – The Travertino Incense Holder

Aleyè Nomade No. 62 is conceived as a singular offering: a unique object released as a one-off, with only one piece available. It is not part of an edition, nor intended for repetition. Its value lies in its irreducibility—once sold, it is complete.

Carved from solid travertino, the holder takes the form of an elongated block incised with a precise linear channel. The geometry is restrained, almost infrastructural, allowing the material to carry the visual weight. Travertine’s porous structure, fossil traces, and mineral inconsistencies remain fully exposed, giving the surface a stratified depth that shifts subtly under light. The incense rests at a measured angle, while ash settles into the cavity as an accumulated record of use.

Minor cavities, tonal variations, and surface irregularities are inherent to the stone and intentionally preserved. They are not marks of imperfection but indicators of geological time and material truth. The object does not seek refinement through polish, but clarity through reduction.

Aleyè Nomade No. 62 exists between ritual tool and architectural fragment—static, grounded, and materially explicit. Designed to be owned once, and only once.
